Traci has been a member of the State Bar of Michigan since 1991, following graduation from Wayne State University School of Law. Until 2003, Traci had a successful solo law practice, exclusively representing parties in domestic relations matters.


From 2003 until 2021, Traci served as a domestic relations referee at Oakland County Friend of the Court. In this capacity, Traci presided over all manner of hearings related to child custody, support and parenting time, including change of domicile and choice of schools. Traci made decisions daily affecting the rights and responsibilities of fathers and mothers in family law cases.


In addition to her employment as a Family Court referee, Traci served on the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section Counsel, and was elected to Chair of the Section for the 2012-2013 term. She has presented and written extensively for the Family Law Section.


Traci also served on the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) Family Law Advisory Board for 6 years, as well as editing the chapter on the Friend of the Court in the Family Law two-volume ICLE publication. On numerous occasions she has presented at ICLE conferences on issues including the UCCJEA (Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act), Imputation of Income for Child Support Purposes, Parenting Time Enforcement and Referee Hearings. She has also made presentations to the Michigan Judicial Institute (MJI) and the Michigan Family Support Conference (MFSC).


In her spare time, Traci enjoys traveling, hiking, running and bird watching.

EXPERIENCE:


Ron graduated from Wayne State University Law School with a J.D. in June, 1969. He worked for Wayne County Neighborhood Legal Services from graduation through June, 1970 when he entered the private practice of law which he continued until 1977. He served as Holly Township attorney from 1974 to 1977.

Ron became a Referee at the Oakland County Friend of the Court in January, 1979 and remained there until his retirement in August, 2017. During that time, he conducted multiple hearings regarding the establishment and modification of child support, parenting time and custody issues. He worked with parties in reaching amicable agreements in many contested cases.

Ron served both on the Michigan State Court Administrative Office Domestic Relations Court rule Committee and the Child Support Formula Committee for 3 revisions of the Michigan Child Support Formula. He was a presenter for the Michigan Judicial Institute, the Michigan State Court Administrative Office, the Eastern Regional Interstate Child Support Association, The National Center for State courts, The Kentucky Child Support Conference, The Michigan Family Support Conference, The Family Law Section for the State Bar of Michigan and the Referee’s Association of Michigan.


PAST AND PRESENT AFFILIATIONS:


Ron was a founding member, past president and board member of the Referee Association of Michigan and is a lifetime honorary member, has been and remains a member in good standing of the State Bar of Michigan from 1969 through the present time.

He has also been a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan from 1979 through the current time and served as their Recording Secretary and Treasurer.
